This site is dedicated to Maverick Eugene Collier.
Maverick passed away suddenly with congestive heart failure on May 15,
2002. He was an inspiration to many people and personally mentored many
youth.
As a result of Maverick's death, his mother, Doris "Ann" McLemore, (pen
name Serenia) was an emotional wreck. After a breakdown at work, she went
to a mental health professional who prescribed antidepressants and
tranquilizers. She was also suffering from asthma and on 5 different asthma
medications.
A few months later, her daughter and two grandchildren were in a terrible car
accident. The car was totaled and all three survived. The children were
without a scratch and her daughter had neck injuries. Her grandson, Steven,
said, "Nana, mommy wasn't driving that car, God was and uncle Maverick
was in the other seat." Her grandaughter, Jazmine, replied "Yes, Nana. I saw
them too!" This reinforced her faith in God and in miracles.
Ann's healing came in many forms. She is a Reiki Master, Journaling and
Meditation Instructor, Artist and practices Yoga faithfully. Ann works with
troubled youth. She teaches the youth journaling, meditation and yoga. She
takes them on trips (guided meditations) and then has them either draw, paint
or write about their experiences. Several of their drawings are shown in the
Juvy Art section of this site.
"Ann" has dedicated her life to helping others in their healing process,
especially youth. Her dream is to build a Healing Center for youth addicted
to drugs and alcohol. She knew nothing about web site design until she
started thethreehugs.com. She built this site with the hopes that others will
also receive their healing, whether it be physical, emotional, spiritual or
financial.
